ERIAFF Network

The Network of European Regions for Innovation in Agriculture, Food and Forestry (ERIAFF) is an informal association of regional Authorities that was established in 2012 in Florence (Tuscany, Italy). The Network is currently participated by 53 member Regions and 39 observers from 21 European countries. ERIAFF allows its members to work on themes of common interest and has established a number of thematic working groups which are coordinated by the most committed members. The participation to the Network and its Working Groups is free and based on a voluntary commitment. Every year the ERIAFF Network organises an annual conference in one of the partner regions.

Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences (SeAMK)

Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences (SeAMK) in South Ostrobothnia is a leading multidisciplinary institution in education and research. With a student body of 5,000, including 10% international students, SeAMK offers diverse bachelor and master degree programmes, with five conducted in English. The institution is supported by a dedicated team of around 400 employees. SeAMK conducts variety of RDI activities in the region ranging from Sustainable Food Solutions to Natural Resources and Bioeconomy, Smart Technologies, Entrepreneurship and Gorwth and Creativity &  Health. SeAMK is participating in the ERIAFF network and its  various working groups together with the Regional Council of South Ostrobothnia.

Regional Council of South Ostrobothnia (RCSO)

The Regional Council of South Ostrobothnia is regional development authority promoting the interests of the region of South Ostrobothnia and its 18 municipalities. RCSO’s experts work with e.g. regional planning and development as well as cultural development issues. The Regional Council stimulates and implements cross-sectoral co-operation benefitting South Ostrobothnia’s citizens, municipalities and region. RCSO works closely with regional, national and international operators and has been an active member of the ERIAFF Network since 2012.

FOODPathS

FOODPathS is a project funded by the European Commission that aims to offer a concrete pathway and necessary tools for establishing an appropriate operational environment for the future European Partnership for Sustainable Food Systems (SFS) for People, Planet & Climate, to be launched in 2024 and that will fund research and innovation activities. The project seeks to engage actors from the entire food system to create the framework in which the Partnership will operate. The FOODPathS Partnership Plenary meeting will be organised in Seinäjoki during the ERIAFF Annual Confrence.
